PACE RALLI, Co-Founder

Pace Ralli is Co-Founder of Clean Marine Energy®. He graduated with a BA from Middlebury College in 2002, and with a MBA from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 2009. Pace’s experience ranges from corporate finance to new venture business development. After receiving his MBA, Pace moved into energy efficiency and natural gas at Pacific Gas & Electric, the largest utility in California. He then became Principal at SCIenergy and helped launch the Energy Efficiency Catalyst Fund to finance large building retrofits and unlock large-scale emissions reductions in commercial real estate. Adapting the model for a new asset class, Pace engineered the Emissions Compliance Service Agreement to unlock parallel benefits in the shipping industry by eliminating the barriers that ship owners face when converting to LNG or installing exhaust scrubbers.

 

VOLCKERT VAN REESEMA, Co-Founder

Volckert graduated from Boston University’s School of Management in 2000 after which he joined Pepsi in a 3 year management training program focusing on sales, operations and logistics. In 2004, Volckert joined Strong Vessel Operators where he worked for 3 years in the Liner Services Department. In view of the fact that the shareholders of SVO decided to wind down the company, Volckert left SVO and co-founded Mid Ocean Marine LLC with his father in 2007, and successfully purchased a 70% completed tanker hull at bankruptcy auction, which was completed in June 2012. Volckert is on the boards of VanEnkevort Tug & Barge, Inc. (dry bulk shipowning and operating company on Great Lakes), Kerrco (a privately held Oil & Gas company based in Houston), MarineCo (privately held holding company with numerous industrial / maritime interests). Volckert is a member of Young President’s Organization (YPO) since 2011.

 

NICKEL VAN REESEMA, Co-Founder

Nickel established MidOceanMarine, LLC with his son Volckert in 2007, and is a majority shareholder in a U.S. flag owner / operator in the Great Lakes dry bulk sector and a newbuild tanker in Alabama for the US Gulf Jones Act trade. Nickel began his career with Van Ommeren in 1973, and after completing 4 years was appointed Commercial Manager of the Panamax and Container Bulkcarrier operation in the company’s headquarters. In 1979, Nickel was named President of Van Ommeren’s U.S. Shipping operations. In 1997, Nickel led a Management Buy Out and formed Strong Vessel Operators, of which he was President and 50% Owner. Nickel also served 10 years (2001-2011) as an Independent Director on the board of TrailerBridge, Inc (NASDAQ: TRBR). Prior to joining Van Ommeren, Mr. van Reesema served in the Royal Dutch Navy on board Minesweepers and as an Officer in the Navy Intelligence.

 

BRADLEY NEUBERTH, Director

Bradley graduated with a BA in Political Science from Hobart College in 2003 where he was also a four year letter winner on the Division One Men’s Lacrosse team. He earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina Kenan-Flagler Business School in 2009 with a concentration in investment management. Prior to joining Clean Marine Energy, Bradley was an associate at M20 Private Fund Advisors, a boutique investment bank specializing in all aspects of private equity fundraising. Preceding M20, Bradley was a member of the U.S. institutional equity sales team at Morgan Stanley from 2009 to 2012. Following his graduation from Hobart, Bradley began his career at the Seabury Group LLC, a global advisory and investment bank focused on the transportation industry where he participated in the restructurings for numerous airlines including: US Airways, Northwest Airlines, South African Airways and Varig Airlines. He currently holds series 7, 55 and 63 licenses with FINRA.

 

MAGNUS TANGEN, Director of Operations

Magnus graduated with an MA in Management from University of St Andrews, Scotland in 2005. He also has a MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from CASS Business School at City of London University from 2010. Prior to joining CME, Magnus worked as a sale and purchase/projects ship-broker with Odin Marine Group LLC in Stamford, CT from 2010-2013. Magnus held research and analytical roles at Bloomberg LP in London, UK from 2005-2009 and with OSG Ship Management (UK) Ltd in 2010. Prior to his studies Magnus served as an officer in the Norwegian Navy’s Task Force from 1999-2001.
